Sweet friends,
After two weeks of winter vacation, I had to return to work today. Got to return today? Actually, I was a little surprised that I had/got to go back today because there were no children on campus. It was a teacher prep day. And knowing that, I had assumed I would be off. So I’d made all of these mental plans…scrapbooking, crafting, grocery shopping, mani and pedi for my final day of vacay.
Last night it occurred to me that maybe I should check my job assignment…good thing I did. The district had me in the database to work. Farewell day-off plans, hello real life responsibilities. Glad to have this opportunity, though, glad to be able to pay off Christmas!
But I hadn’t worn dress-up shoes or work shoes the whole vacation. If I could have worn tennies or flip-flops back to work today, I sure would have. But I couldn’t so enter Sole Patches to the rescue.
Sole Patches are self-adhesive, anti-moisture, antimicrobial, and anti-odor pads that can be adhered directly to the foot to relieve the discomfort or pain that sometimes accompanies the wearing of fashionable but uncomfy shoes. I first learned about Sole Patches powered by Brandbacker, an app that matches bloggers with brands seeking product reviews.
Although I have had pain in my right foot for years, I continue to wear heels on an almost daily basis. A girl’s gotta do what girl’s gotta do. But I have always had to buy shoes on a budget. Not always the best made, most comfortable shoes…just cute. By the end of a busy work day, I can be hobbling in my heels. So when I was given this opportunity to try Sole Patches, I jumped at it.
Sole Patches with Pumps
The first time I wore these little foot-clouds, was to church, dinner, shopping in a pair of black, 3-inchish pumps. Sole Patches can be adhered to the foot or, more permanently, to the inside of a pair of shoes. My black pumps are among my favorite school shoes, so I decided to stick them to their soles rather than to the soles of my feet.
The medical-grade adhesive kept the Sole Patches in place all evening…through church, dinner at our favorite Chinese buffet, and shopping at Target afterward. I wore the shoes probably five hours. I would generally begin to have pain at the base of my right big toe within an hour of putting on my heels. But, guess what? No pain. My shoes remained comfortable all evening.
Sole Patches with Flats
I had planned to have a pedi today before taking more pictures for this post. But, well, work got in the way. So, knowing that, please for give my unpolished tootsies in the next pictures.
Since I wouldn’t be giving classes today, I dressed ‘down’ a little and decided to try the Sole Patches with my go-to flats. I decided to apply the pads directly onto my feet this time.
I wasn’t exactly sure where to put the pad on my sore foot because the pain really radiates from the top through to my sole, right at the base of my big toe. (TMI?) But I adjusted the Sole Patch several times until I found the best “fit”.
And I was out the door. I wore my shoes from 7:00 am – 5:00 pm, in fact, they are still dangling from my feet as I sit in my recliner typing this. My feet are a little tired from the first day back at work and grocery shopping during lunch. But not nearly as achy as they might have been without my new best friends!
Oops!
About lunch time, I decided to see if the Sole Patches had stayed where I had placed them on my feet before leaving home. I thought I could feel the one on my right foot slipping a little. When I removed my shoe, the pad had moved just a little. I put my feet sole-to-sole to take a picture so you all could see the issue with my right foot. The pad fell off.
But I immediately knew why. In the morning, after my shower, I had put lotion on my right foot, then tried to remove it before putting the pad on. When I read the package directions about applying the pad, it mentioned that the adhesive would work best on a clean, dry foot free of lotion. Ooops. I should have taken time to wash the lotion off my right foot but I was running late. Now I know better. P.S. Despite how it looks in the photo above, my right foot isn’t three sizes longer than my left. Optical illusion. But you can see my owie below my toe.
Sole Patches on the ‘Morrow
My sample package came with three pairs of Sole Patches. Tomorrow, I am going to get dressed up for work and try out the Sole Patches in some other heels. I look forward to not having to give up comfort in the hopes of looking put together.
But you don’t have to just take my word for how comfortable Sole Patches are. Take a peek at this video from the Discovery Channel.

Thank you, Brandbacker and Sole Patches for this opportunity to try and review your product. And to be a more comfortable fashionista.
Hugs and kisses,
Kim Street
Did they make your shoes feel tight? When I have tried similar products in the past, the extra room they took up made the shoe too snug.

Because of my big right toe issues, I was really worried that these cushions/pads would make my shoe too snug but I didn’t really notice much difference. They are pretty cushy but I think with my weight on the pad, they compressed enough to keep from making a big difference in the fit of my shoes. Thanks for stopping by, Kim, and for leaving a comment.

Ohh, I was just thinking the other day that I need something for a couple of pairs of flats that I have that just aren’t comfortable, yet are cute and I just don’t want to part with them. I am going to check these out! That is such a bummer you had to work when you needed a day to rest up and get caught up on some things. Reality can be such a bummer sometimes 😉

Can’t reality just bite you in the butt when you least expect it? Ha! But life goes on. I do have Monday off for MLK, Jr. Day so hope to get some projects tackled then so I can link up with Creative Corner.
Try these pads. I think they made a difference for my poor footsies! Hope they will work for you.
